April 17 Keukenhof tulips and more

 April 17
Atorium in Brussels
We had a crazy week. On Monday we went to the theme park and had a lot of fun. On Tuesday, my comp was sick so we did a lot of phone calls and looked up a few people that were not too far from our apartment. We had a barbecue that evening and were able to meet some non member family of a member and spend some time with our investigators getting them ready for baptism.

Wednesday we mowed a neglected lawn and had a great lunch which is typical for Europe...sandwiches! They don't put very much in their sandwiches here. Usually just a little butter and a piece of meat or cheese. They don't

often put meat and cheese at the same time. But the bread is fresh and delicious and the sandwiches are warm and satisfying. We then traveled to the other end of our area for a dinner appointment. We had tacos. Also delicious.

On Thursday we had our yearly trip to Keukenhof. We had to get up at 4:00 to make it on time. I got to see some people from my MTC group that I have not seen since we entered the mission field. I was cool to see them and notice the changes. It was a long day and I had a headache for most of the time. The tulips were beautiful. We only ran into 3 families of mormons this year. We got home and crashed.

On Friday we took a very long bike ride to more effectively look up a few referrals from our easter campaign. We rode throught forests and found a few people home.

Saturday was yet another long day for other reasons.

Keukenhoff
There was stake conference this weekend and some big changes were made. They split up our branch and made us part of a couple larger wards along with some other branches here in Belgium. This plan will build a few powerhouses to support members and get some programs going that are difficult without more members. It does mean a moderate travel time to get to church, but in the end it will be for the best. So we will now be traveling to Antwerpen for church.

I saw Rocky and Monique van Geenen at conference, the ward mission leader from Breda and his wife. They are doing well. Now that some areas are absorbed, I have a larger chance of getting to serve in the ward of Breda again.
