Hedgehogs and Fufu

This week was better.

We fasted as a zone for solid investigators and we saw some miracles in our district. As for us, we fasted on a pretty warm day. In the morning, we got let in while knocking doors, which is a miracle for Emmen by itself. The guy was saying that if his wife was home we would have no luck, but he was interested and eating lunch, so he had the time. He wouldn't take a Book of Mormon for the sake of his wife, but said we could try back and talk more or with his son who is pretty interested in this stuff as well. We went to contact a referral from headquarters in a small town about an hour bus ride a way later in the afternoon. Luckily he was home so we have a return appointment this week. While we were there, we did some knocking. There was a heavily tattooed lady who opened up the door. We were not expecting much, but she was really happy to get a copy of the book and said that the following month she would call us for an appointment. We all know how many of those kinds of phone calls we get, but we can always go look her up in a month. She also had a neighbor who said we could come back another time also. We also knocked on a door and an African lady opened up. She said she was Muslim, but her boyfriend is Catholic and likes to go to different churches with people. After a short conversation, we tried a dinner contact. We asked her where in Africa she is from, and if she knows how to make fufu. All Africans know how to make fufu, and they are always surprised when white boys know what fufu is. Then we asked if we could come over sometime and try her fufu. So now we have a dinner appointment with a lady and her boyfriend that we met for 5 minutes on the door and a lesson afterwards. Apparently dinner contacting works better in the big cities where there are more aftricans, but we got one here. After a long day, we baked a bunck of vegetable with chicken thighs in as big a glass bowl as we could get into our mini oven thing. It is like the black and decker one we have at home. It was really good.

Another event this week is that I saw my first hedgehog here, He wasn't alive. But I got a picture anyways (insert UGH! from the editor)
. Later I will be sending a picture with a live one when I can catch one.
