November 7

This was a fast but long week. It is hard to remember the beginning of the week and it feels like it has been weeks since last monday. But at the same time, it came around the corner before I even realized it.

We saw some cool things happen when a couple appointments fell through and we found a couple awesome potentials instead. Gave away a few copies of the Book of Mormon. Passed out some cards. Knocked a lot of do

ors. Pretty normal stuff. It is getting dark really early now with the change in daylight savings time. Luckily the Gospel doesn't change after dark.

All the leaves are coming down now and there wont be many left in a week. But it is super pretty for now.

We had 4 lessons with our Surinamese investigator this week.
where is Surinam?

He just likes meeting a lot I guess. He was supposed to come to church on Sunday, but wouldn't answer his bell or phone when we came by to ride with him to church. He is now obligated to come next week no matter what.

We went to some dorpjes to contact some potentials we found about a month ago, and they are all still positive. There is even a lady out there that we gave a Book of Mormon to and she is reading it and loving it. She hasn't read a whole lot yet but likes the stuff with the tribes of Israel and how that corresponds with the Bible. Score.

We had a few good dinner appointments. The most common dutch food is stamppot. Pretty much mashed potatoes with spinach or sauerkraut(zuurkool in dutch) or carrots and other things with a sausage.

It is pretty good and a good solid winter meal. They made it during the war when there wasn't much to eat and they would cook and mash potatoes and add other things to it.

This week we are heading to to temple tomorrow as a zone and then we will have a zone conference afterwards. We are all supposed to take family names. I am doing somebody from dads side named Preserved Bartlett. He had his baptism and initiatory done in the Kansas City temple about the time Ethan was on his mission. Maybe he did them.
