A castle in Gent

Jan 30
For PD last week we went back to Gent to see the castle. It was still cool. It actually warmed up a bit this week and is now lingering at about 6 Celsius. That means it rains instead of snows. Today we will be heading to Flanders Fields, a pretty famous WW1 memorial site with trenches and a graveyard and museum. It is quite a trip to get there.

This week we were busy almost all of the time. We had interviews on Tuesday, which were nice. We went on exchanges later that day and I was with Elder Enger in Geel. We went to a lesson later that evening and had a killer joint teach. It was awesome. They also gave us a lift which gave us a chance to eat dinner and spared us the wet 45 minute bike ride. Which was nice.
and some ultra death sauce that a member loaned me because most europeans can not do spicy

I have told you about my companion. He is funny and nearing the end of his mission. I am pretty sure that I will finish him off next transfer. But we are getting transfer calls this week so i wont know until next week. I have my camera with me today, don't worry.

We had a worldwide broadcast this week and they did away with all but 4 of the weekly numbers that we report. We also have more agency with scheduling our own studies. That will be nice for the nights where we would normally have to knock until 9pm. We can just get out earlier and do language study at night.

We are working with less active to get him temple worthy. And maybe teach his nonmember family. We will see. We did a lot of traveling this week to contact referrals that live far away. A senior couple picked us up and drove us around for a few hours doing these lookups, which was much needed. We played football again in the park. It was fun. There was a party for a family here who is from Venezuela but could not get immigration papers so they will be moving back this week or the next.

I gave a talk on Sunday about the family council. We ate some fish heads and rice last night. We have a busy week planned.

This week blew by. Pretty normal week. We had some lessons go through, some fall through. A member took us to get Thai food this week and it was pretty good. I found a sweet outdoor backpack at a tiny thriftstore in the middle of nowhere for 5 euro. We did a bit of traveling.

On Thursday we had zone conference in Antwerpen. It was pretty good. But it took most of the day. We had a lot of late dinners this week. We had a cool dinner appointment with our ward mission leader.

Last night we went to Antwerpen to go to a fireside with a recent convert put on by the person that plays Mary in the Jesus Christ Bible videos.
It was pretty good. She talked about the challenges that she has faced in her performing career and sang a few songs. It was very good.

THe sun has been shining these past few days. It has been awesome weather for this time of year. But it has also been abnormally cold. I walked out on the ice on a nearby pond the other day and didn't fall through.

Elder Enger from my old district up in Emmen got emergency transferred down here last week because a visa waiter got his visa. He is a good guy. He played against Shadow Mountain in a few basketball competitions a couple years ago.

We are doing well. We are healthy. I don't think I took any pictures this week. We are going to Gent again today. Next week we are going to Ieper, where Flanders Fields are. There are trenches from WW1 there and I will have some cool pictures from there in 2 weeks.
